Is there a universal size crimp suitable for most traces ie 0.9 MM. or are smaller sizes more useful in 0.6 and 0.7mm for soft trace wire like wonder tress, drennan and fox etc!!

I think you’ve seen this before, but a reminder might be helpful.

You need to match the trace wire diameter to crimp diameter as it needs to be a tight fit. I'd check what crimps are suggested for the wire you're using but if it helps I'm using .8mm for 15lb & 24lb 49 stand wire. I find it helps to run the wire through the crimps three times rather than the more normal twice.

What do you do with double Crimps?

I've never used double barrelled crimps so couldn't say.

I use single crimps with 49 strand wire for ultralight traces and stingers; I knot knot2kinky for heavier traces.

I have some wondertress and have made a trace doing exactly that Philip! I now have a variety of dead baits so am ready for my first foray into pike territory ! This will have to be in the new year as I'm off to see my grandson for Christmas early next week!

I have a suitable rod, reel and landing net so just need an obliging Esox! I hope it's a tiddler!

Look after that Wondertress Mike, I don’t believe there’s a spool left anywhere and can only assume it’s no longer in production.:(

Supatress and powertress still available though.:)

Powertress and Supraflex are both in stock at Pecheur.com, sadly no more Wondertress though
