when Dropshotting its not unusual to encounter a deep hooked Perch needing forceps to extract the hook. However, sometimes its just not enough.
This problem is often encountered when sea fishing for flaties even when using circle hooks. Sea fishing requires a different style of disgorger which can be seen and explained better than I can here by searching "Gemini hook disgorger". There are videos on youtube showing how to use it. I have had success using this especially when larger perch swallow small soft lures.

I hope this suggestion is found to be useful.

Drop shotting is about the only method I fish where deep hooking isn’t an issue.

Agreed. Lure fishing in general has never resulted in a deep hooked fish of any species in decades of doing it.

I agree, I’m a pretty poor lure fisherman but every pike I’ve caught has been hooked in the scissors.
