I have pike fished (lures) at Beeston quite a bit over the years, though not so much recently.
We always seemed to do better from the Weir sill, down to the first bend. But the first seven or eight pegs always seemed the most reliable. Especially when the river carried a few inches of extra water. Usually good for a few mid doubles and occasionally a biggie, to bait or lure.
Sardine produced some nice fish to my mates. Hope this helps.
