havent been on water yet practiced casting on back alley can cast about 20ft but not straight also keep geting a wipping sound when bringing it forward also finding it hard to keep of floor when casting

the whipping sounds probably because your starting the forward punch before the lines straightened out behind you. if its hitting the floor, your letting the rod go too far forward, you want to keep the rod between about 10 and 1 o'clock, keep your wrist straight.

Remember you are not casting the fly. You are casting the LINE, the fly goes along for a ride.
