At the end of the month we are off to Little Haven on holiday for a week. I'm a complete sea novice but have been wondering if it is worth my while throwing a rod in the car.
I'm thinking maybe mackerel, bass, or anything that may be accessible from the rocks. I don't know the area at all. I may have access through friends to a small boat which they use for mackerel fishing amongst other things. [They bbq them on the beach!]
What sort of tackle and would lures be suitable? I've got an 8' spinning rod, rated 1-3 oz/ 10-30 lb line, or maybe an old carp rod 2.5lb tc? Reel will have to be an old DAM baitrunner.
Any advice gratefully received.
