Fuerteventura Fishing over the last year

hi all
i'm new to this forum so thought i'd post some pictures and videos of what ive caught (or not caught) in fuerteventura over the last year.

i've been 4 times and have had some good fish

in march 2010 i had this 11lb bluefish on 30lb fluorocarbon hook link

i also caught alot of small rays and smooth hounds

i went again in june and hooked a 150lb plus stingray, 3 times but never got it in. there is a video on youtube but i wont post it as it contains a few expletives!

in october i caught this 50lb butterfly ray

also this was caught at the same venue CLICK HERE

and a spider octopus

and lastly i went in january and this happened CLICK HERE

i also caught some garfish

and moray eel

thoughout all my trips i have numerous bream, palometa and small rays.
its been a good year!!

i'm going back in april for 2 weeks so will post a report

Nice stuff! My biggest bluefish is just a couple of pounds. I did hook a big ray at La Gomera harbour once on my catfish tackle (5lb TC rod 30lb line etc) and it just about spooled me, no trouble. Eventually I clamped down on the spool and...ping!

rays do have alot of power. they don't run very quick but once they take line its so difficult to get it back. the ray i lost in the video was well in excess of 200lb. at some points it was striping 60lb braid on full drag, 60-70yards at a time and when it stopped i just couldn't move it!!
