Ron Thompson Salmon Spinner

Hi, has anyone tried the following lures for sea fishing Ron Thompson Salmon Spinner – Glasgow Angling Centre , i have some and just wondering if they're worthwhile. Bought them a year or so ago as i noticed they are quite heavy in weight and beefier than normal little spinners.

I havn't tried them but they look good enough to try and you often need weight sea lure fishing to get some distance. I am not over keen on the mepps type though, I find you have to retrieve too fast sometimes to make them work properly.
