Grimsby and Cleethorpes Humber Sea Angling Club

"PERSONALITY clashes are threatening to rip apart Grimsby and Cleethorpes Humber Sea Angling Club - in the year it marks its 50th anniversary.

Inter-club wrangling, the lack of new blood getting into the sport and the increasing cost of fishing matches are the three main reasons for the club's demise.

In its heyday, the club had a membership of well over 100 - but that has declined dramatically, even more so since recent launch of a new club in the area - the Grimsby Sea Angling Club....."

if more clubs relised that most sea anglers want catch and release matches they would still get members.

2 sea clubs in my area are struggling as well.

£50 to join, at least £20 per match + bait, parking etc. and you only fish beaches that are free anyway.

nothing like walking past a beach after a match looking at all the dead fish, many undersize. or looking in the bins stuffed full of unwanted fish.
