    Re: Line help please

The only issue I've had with shot on a Fluoro hooklength is it moving although I only use 10s or 8s lead. I routinely test hooklengths to breaking point if they survive to get an idea as to how much...

    Re: Spilt shot.

I've re-used No10 Stotz/Waterline more than once, if I can get them off easily enough. Almost always re-use No8 Stotz/Waterline. There's just the odd occasion when I can't get the 8s off easily.

    Re: Line help please

I like Supplex Fluoro 3.3lb to a swivel. It doesn't tend to tangle and should it happen it's very easy to smooth kinks out. The only time I used loop to loop I got a spin up so never tried it again....

    Re: Clutch or backwind

I do both but that's largely due to me not being quick enough to switch the backwind off or underestimating the size of the fish. That's not to say it's the best way, horses for courses. I'm not...

Re: How did you get on?

I've had big Perch chasing after my small ones on the canal so here's hoping:
0 They're in there. A guy drop shotting had one around 2lb just a bit further up from where I was. Not sure I'd...

Re: Lockdown effect on fishing ?

We've been told that we can go out to exercise but you can exercise at home, no need to go out at all.

Re: How did you get on?

Hiccups Mike! Nice pic. A strange day to say the least. 4 Hours before either of us got a bite and 6hrs before Mike got one. Being as shallow as it is it's a finicky water weather wise, particularly...

Re: Single most expensive item of tackle

Very modest for me. A tie between the Stradic Ci4+ and 13' Toreon float rod, about £125 from memory and don't regret either, I have two Ci4+'s but the way it's going Glow Tip Antennas might outstrip...

Re: How did you get on?

Never have I been quite so pleased to net a small skimmer as I was yesterday out with mikench. 4hrs+ and not a nibble then missed one, next fell off swinging it in, third was the skimmer about the...

    Re: Float making.

    ...

Presumably you have some sort of spindle to actually make the floats and have tried painting while rotating in the spindle, or doesn't that work for some reason? I've been using pre painted...

    Re: Slider float fishing

Yes, quite enjoy it and as you say it's surprisingly sensitive considering the size of floats used. Although you strike through the float you're still striking against the inertia of a sizeable...

Re: How did you get on?

The weather, renovations and other domestic interruptions have made it difficult to get out over the last few weeks. Finally managed a session on the Bridgwater east of Lymm. On the bank around 7:30...

Re: How did you get on?

It's the forum that doesn't respect the rotational information in the jpeg, you have to strip it (EXIF) out with a program such as IrfanView if you want to guarantee they look the same everywhere....
