Dont get all arsey. You're the one insisting it goes ahead despite the weather when its quite obvious its the weather that is putting a lot of people off.

And what ( or more to the point when)...

I do fancy it....I just dont fancy getting soaked. I absolutely detest setting up and fishing in the rain.

If the forecast is **** tomorrow am then dont wait for me.

    Re: greys greyflex m2 SNAPPED!

I think I might try refitting the tip ring on the shortened top and trying that first. I've done that a couple of times on fly rods and not really noticed much difference. In the meantime keep...

The weather looks filthy for Sunday but there's still plenty of time for it to change. It had better because if it looks like rain all day I shall not be there.

Re: North Sea Cod back on the danger list.

Who'd have thought, eh ? Not an eggcupful of integrity among the lot of them. I wouldn't have the bare faced cheek to dish up some of the colossal whoppers that are getting churned out.

I thought the Fat Fraud ( or one of his toady mates) had promised to look after the UK Fishing fleet post Brexit ? Not if it costs money and the votes have been counted methinks.

    Re: Zander location in stillwaters

All my best days at OBH have been fishing into a big, mild ( usually wet) s/w hooligan. I usually try to get the tail end of a big low so that its had long enough to move the fish around. OBH is...

They are THE most contrary fish in my rather limited experience. For what its worth, based on my experiences at Bury Hill

    1. They move around. Hotspots one day can be devoid of fish the next.

Re: Weighing in my landing net?

No....not in my experience and certainly no more than a weigh sling or net. Depends on the bag too I'm using fairly lightweight bags , not one of these thick carriers or bag for life jobbies.

I use the plastic bags from the local TS. Everyone I get goes in my bag and at the end of the day I fill it with all my rubbish and stick it in the bin. Perfect for the smaller species and they dont...

Re: Shotting for a stick float

Dont use too light a float either..use the one with the heaviest shot loading.appropriate to the depth and strength of current. A bit more weight gives you better control and a bit more stability.

Dunno....I set mine years ago and the legs have kind of stuck in place. Theres a few inches height adjustment...enough for me to sit with my thighs level anyway and I'm over 6 foot with long legs.
