    Re: Carp Fishing as Beginner

I never got round to answering your question simply because I don't fish for carp. I have no experience in fishing the waters you fish or the methods you use.

Re: Is the grass always greener

My go to winter Pike venue is now too dangerous to fish after all this rain. Slipping down steep banks into 6ft of water is not my idea of fun. My next choice means a half a mile walk across muddy...
  9. Re: Tying spade end hooks and hooklengths,or the inability to.

I must admit that when I tied my own hooks I never bothered to check which way the line came off the hook. I just put bait on the hook and went fishing if there was a difference I never noticed any....

This is one of those questions that can't really be answered unless you give some idea of the waters you will be fishing.

Re: How did you get on?

Stick at lure fishing once you start catching it becomes easier. The way I got the best out of lure fishing was to by not taking any other tackle but lure tackle. A lot of anglers use it as a last...
  12. Re: Tying spade end hooks and hooklengths,or the inability to.

I use to tie all my small hooks now I find it much easier to buy ready tied and have never had a problem. Can't remember ever losing a fish due to using ready tied hooks.

Re: Tackle made in the UK

The problem when you go looking for UK made tackle is the price. You have to be prepared to pay £100's more than you would do for a similar import.
