Of course they know. Its advice from the membership secretary.
And where else other than the lake itself.

Anyway, thanks for the useful replies.
    I'm outta here

    Big livebaits

When using big livebaits (jack pike 2-3lb), how do you sort out bite detection?
A nor al size float will get pulled under and sitting behind alarms wont work either.
    Any ideas?

Re: Feeder fishing chair set up

So long as there isnt snags, you can land surprisingly big fish on light rods/tackle.
Ive had 20lb carp on 5lb mainline and 4lb hook link on the lightest quivertip I have. Luckily there is no snags...

    .

The single hook one for pike makes me laugh. That encourages people to hold back on the strike and therefore results in deep hooking.
I was talking to a guy in my local shop about this last...

Who sais carp fishing has to be sitting around waiting for a bite?

    Re: Net opinions please

Ive got the Fox Predator net.
Its had fish to just under 20lb in it and they just fit. If your target fish are much bigger, I think you'd be better off elsewhere.

Re: Flavourings a catch or a must

    Ha ha ha :):):) Yes.

Does that mean that all glugs don't work too? After all, that's all it is.
  13. Re: When was the last time you actually needed to by a new rod or reel?

Every time I've bought new rods.
I don't buy any fishing stuff I don't need. What's the point in that?
I'll buy it, use it till it breaks, then replace it.

    Nothing. Bar a book sometimes.
I go fishing to fish. I'll happily do a week with no mod cons. I couldn't think of anything worse.

Are you fishing chods correctly in the weed? As in, you've worked out how deep it...

    Re: Starting Kit for Piking

Long forceps and pliers are NOT enough.

I chinned a pike last year. As it did so, it flapped a tad. In the process I laid it back on the mat as usual, and withdrew my hand. At the same time the...

I wish people would stop taking hand sanitizing cream fishing.
It ruins the fishes protective slime. Especially the stuff with high alcohol content.

    Re: Carp on Deadbaits

Ive had loads of carp on deads aimed for pike and even had them on minnows and gudgeon when targeting perch.
I think that carp are wising up to fishermans bait, so are seeking out alternatives.

Ive used one of their Anoki spod rods for 2 years now. It's only 3.75 t/c but I''ll happily chuck a big spomb loaded with parti 100 yards with it.
