    Best bait and set up for float fishing

    Try 3” over the depth of the water. Small shot 3” from your hook. Works well for me. Maggots are good, keep feeding a few 5-10 every minute or so. Sweetcorn for a change tinned is better than frozen...

    Grabbed 1/2 pint of maggots as I fancied an evening by the bank float fishing for roach. I was catching at different heights in the water column.

    Myself frequently, trees lots of trees. But my latest catch is Lymes disease! Wife insists it’s from fishing. I think it’s from the local woods which are full of deer.

    I thought it might be Methylene Blue, but looks more like paint than anything.
    We had white paint dumped in our brook by some bright spark, it soon cleared and didn’t seem to do any lasting damage....

    I’ve got up to a pack of size 6 but last time I actually used a 6 was in the 80’s for chub fishing.
