Re: Why do we so often fish so heavy?

I only tend to dabble in sea fishing, and enjoy blasting out a 6oz gripper in search of winter cod on the north east coast. That said, last year I did flick some ragworm out into the surf using...

    Re: Are eels realy endangered?

Fishing ten years ago on some areas of the river tees would see plenty of eels being caught. There was a very noticeable decline in the period after that, however I think things are starting to look...

Re: How did you get on?

After a couple of blanks on a gravel pit, I needed to get back on the river for a bit of sanity. Got out at 9pm, river was up a little and pushing and bloody cold. After fishing a couple of pegs...

Re: How did you get on?

Up early this morning and taking be dogs for a walk noticed there had been a hard frost. That couple with clear skies, I had a feeling it would be pretty tough going.

I decided to fish a gravel...

    Re: Cyprinus Ebay auctions?

Put in a throw away bid with 5 seconds to go, sometimes you get a right bargain and it doesn't allow time for response

    Re: New Match Reel Recommendations

Sorry I wasn't clear. My liking of the matchpro wasn't to do with its weight or balance, more it's action, ability to pick up line on the strike and the feel of playing a fish. Technically I don't...

    Re: New Match Reel Recommendations

I've just obtained a 14ft matchpro ultralight, not a rod I've used before now. As you know I'm an acolyte fan, however I was extremely impressed with the matchpro on my last outing. I almost wonder...

Re: How did you get on?

Bright conditions after a cold night meant one thing for me today, grayling on the upper tees. Also gave me the opportunity to try out a couple items of gear.

I got out early afternoon for a few...

    Re: decline in rivers

I've not seen any marked change on the tees, other than the gradual decline in barbel over the last ten years. There still seems to be plenty of chub on the bits I fish, grayling populations...
