  1. Re: The 50lber – Let’s see the doubters’ ‘proof’!

As I stated Cliff, neither side appear to have concrete physical physical evidence that would stand up to the detailed scrutiny in a court of law.

For example, have the Minutes from that Meeting...
  2. Re: Fishing method you are unlikely to pursue

Fly fishing using a "sight bob" . . . . as I prefer to keep my float fishing to using a waggler or a stick float thank you very much.

I also try to avoid stripping lures for trout as well . . . ....

    Re: Mike Dempsey R.I. P.

It is always very sad when we hear of a fishing friend passing especially someone who you might have fished with regularly.

    Nick, may your friend R.I.P.
  4. Re: The 50lber – Let’s see the doubters’ ‘proof’!

I have spent close to 5 hours (over several days) re-reading threads on this topic both on here and on the old Fishingwharehouse site and to be perfectly honest, and looking from a legal standpoint,...

  7. Re: Super trawlers in the Channel: Tim Macpherson comments on what it means for fish

The latest figures I could find show that last year 75% of all uk boat caught fish were exported to Europe with less than 10% going to Africa, and most of that went via Rotterdam which does skew the...
  8. Re: Super trawlers in the Channel: Tim Macpherson comments on what it means for fish

I thought the article was a well balanced description of the situation and especially where it was pointed out that whether a large vessels take fish or lots of smaller ones take the same amount then...

Windy will probably make Boddington his own personal Tarshish . . . .

I will be in Paris sampling some of the culinary delights but I wish you all a catch of "dag godal" . . . . .
  10. Re: North Sea Cod back on the danger list.

Any attempt at forecasting fishery stocks is at best a SWAG, being a Scientific Wild Arsed Guess ;) . . . . and rapid climate changes are equally as important as much as over fishing, and we are...

  12. Re: North Sea Cod back on the danger list.

This is disappointing news but prompts many questions about current practices, and the levels of control (or lack of them) on fishing boats.

It is concerning that less than 1% of uk boats have any...

If Evan is going to the event then I'd advise everyone else to pack really good waterproofs and a blooming great brolly. . . . . he didn't earn the nickname of "Jonah" for now't . . . .
  15. Re: What can I do about an assortment of old unmarked line?

When I asked at my local tip they said that fishing line is recycled separately . . . . I didn't check any further to be honest.
  16. Re: What can I do about an assortment of old unmarked line?

Line is not all that expensive (in the overall scheme of things) but it is really important to have line that you trust as it is the only thing connecting you to the fish . . . .

    Personally, I'd...

    Re: whats the fish called

Sounds like a Greyling and is called 'The Lady of the Stream' because of her refined beauty, her lacelike dorsal fin, her grace and the subtle way in which she rises and takes a dry fly.
