  1. Re: if you could fish ANYWHERE in the world for 2 weeks???

There are so many places in this country I have never fished but put me on Britford or Throop just trotting a float and I would be happy. Never wanted to fish my way round the world.

Re: The lack of good fishing articles.

This was one of the best fishing programmes on TV in my opinion mainly because fishing was only a small part of it.

Re: Angling, The never ending Journey

Fishing as been part of my life for 60 years. For nearly twenty years it ruled my life, fishing after school, than after work and weekends, holiday spent fishing then other hobbies and life took...
  6. Re: Dropshotting for Roach/Rudd/any other species than Perch

I fish a lake where carp are pests when fishing dead baits and sometimes live baits.
  7. Re: Dropshotting for Roach/Rudd/any other species than Perch

Having caught Rudd and roach on lures I see no reason why they can't be caught on normal drop shot lures.

I think you are right rivers will be fine for the close season and back in flood in June.

    Re: Ribble rising fast

I would say that it is impossible for any flood prevention to hold back the water that came down over the last few days. It would be cheaper to move the houses.

    Re: Waterway wanderers permit

I did once ask why they charge to fish my local country park lake and why other park users don't the answer was simply because they can. Bit like the C&RT.

Re: How did you get on?

Wonder how many people are out fishing today in this gentle breeze.
  13. Re: cormorants destroying fish stocks natural waters

We have laid out the table for all fish eating predators with our overstocked fisheries so why are we surprised when they come to call.

If it is there to care for the canals why don't cyclists and other tow path users pay or got asked for a charity donation.

Re: Nightmare scenarios when out fishing.....

I know the feeling having fallen in when trying to recover a lost float. There was a reason why no one else had tried and I found out why.

    Re: Waterway wanderers permit

Which raises the question why bother with one and why apart from boaters do anglers need permit to use the canals.

    Re: Waterway wanderers permit

If I check the waters near me they all come with club name against them. In which case it would be cheaper to take out this permit than join the club. That is if I have read the info correctly.

Would the fish still be there after a boat goes over them. All they will tell you is where the fish were.

Never heard of the waterway wanders permit till you mentioned. I would assume they can check both your licence and permit.
