    Re: Carp Fishing as Beginner

Wonder if it’s Weirdoh in his latest incarnation?
  2. Re: Tying spade end hooks and hooklengths,or the inability to.

She’d certainly help to avoid any pelvic or hip damage for us older blokes.

Must have been some time verifying it, the picture is taken in mid summer by the look of it.

    Re: Carp Fishing as Beginner

Poles that come with top kits with side pullers fitted are a great idea. The Shimano Beastmaster Margin doesn’t but it has reinforced sections to fit your own. I’ve done 3 of my top kits with the...

Preston make the Edge Monster (stupid name, but true)
  8. Re: Tying spade end hooks and hooklengths,or the inability to.

Don’t like tying spade end hooks and never go below size 18 so my solution is to use these Gamakatsu GP107 and tie them on using the Knotless hair rig knot and simply cut the hair off. The up-eyed...
  9. Mersey Winter Boat Trip for Cod - Dec ‘19

Off out on first Mersey cod trip of the winter on Friday on Size Matters out of Liverpool Marina. Great boat, great skipper, good bait, decent price. I’ll be uptiding and hoping for a few nice...

    Re: Carp Fishing as Beginner

To the OP, I’m coming to this a bit late, but did it not occur to you that buying a margin pole called “Edgemonster” and putting No 12 solid elastic in it was a bit of a bad idea?

    Re: Bargains. Let us know.

I pass one every Monday and always pop in. The rods are all rubbish but there’s always gems to be had in the reels. I’ve bought 6 in the last year and 4 have gone for good profits on eBay and 2 I’ve...

Two different businesses I think. Cash Converters came first.

Not that far into it, just a drop in on Mondays looking for bargains. and it’s a Cash Generator not Cash Converter.

Today’s bounty from Cash Generator - Daiwa Ninja Match 2508A. £19.99 minus 20% Black Friday Store Discount = £15.99.

Think I’ll keep this one for myself!

Black Friday - Wilkinson Cameras, Liverpool, in store bargain. Lowepro Camera/Optical cases £1.00 each.

Big enough for most compact 35mm cameras or a pair of 8x30 binoculars.

    They got smaller...

Re: Chinese tackle and free rod giveaway

I’ve had Sage and Orvis at silly prices and I’ve had Greys that knock them into a cocked hat. If you could buy a Sage in the States (at pre-Brexit exchange rates) then you’d have a bargain. At £600+...

Re: Tackle made in the UK

TBH I don’t really care where things are actually made if the label is that of a British company and the product helps out a British firm. I’ve got a Hardy 14’ salmon fly rod, a Hardy Demon cassette...

Re: Chinese tackle and free rod giveaway

Thing about fly rods is, how did your £12 rod cast? Also, and I am a fly fisherman, virtually all fly rods (even cheapos) now come in 4 pieces and 2 and 3 piece fly rods are a relative rarity.

Popped into Harrison’s on Friday to buy a rod bag for the GTi as the one with it was rotted. Got a very nice Velcro jobbie for £9 and was reminded (as I’d forgotten) that my 14ft MAP Dave Harrell...

I know you were only joking Mike, the Acolyte was the Ultra. Quality feel to it but I’d still prefer the Harrison that I got (price notwithstanding)

Ray’s Tackle, 22 Childwall Lane, Liverpool, L14 6TX. He hasn’t got any more as it was one of his personal rods.
