    Re: Helicopter rigs

Having fished the helicopter rig a lot this year I’ve found the following useful:

Korum helicopter rigs - more expensive than swivels and anti-tangle sleeves but far better to avoid tangles

    Re: Low cost ord deliveries

UPS today used to be half as expensive as everyone else for long tubes but they've put their prices up recently.

They were still the cheapest last time I sent something UPStoday.com
  4. Re: Returned to fishing? What changes have you noticed?

As long as no one is harming the fish or each other I can’t see any problem with any sort of fishing. When you look back at some of the old photos of big catches, where the fish are piled on top of...

    Re: Big Bream hunt

The distance you need to fish at will be dependent on the water you’re fishing, if you need to chuck 60yds plus you’ll need more than a medium feeder but it’ll do the job at 40yds. That should be...

Re: How did you get on?

It’ll be a terrible shame if it continues. I’m not fished it nearly as long as that but I have fished the long walk a lot over recent years and it’s a little gem of a stretch

Re: How did you get on?

Not great news about the lack of water. Rain doesn’t make much difference to the levels there, the river goes up and back down pretty quickly but it’s shallow now at the best of times.

On a small, clear, gravel pit I used to fish the carp were extremely wary except for tench spawning time when they would be almost as reckless as the tench. They would get into a frenzy feeding on...

This. And use dark groundbaits and hook baits. I was hooking lots of coots and ducks until I changed, I still get the occasional duck on dead reds unfortunately. Corn and light-coloured hook baits...

    Water suddenly gone clear?

A reservoir I fished yesterday appears to have gone suddenly very clear. When I've fished it in the past I haven't noticed it being that crystal clear, yesterday was the first day I fished on it...

    Thanks, very interesting.

That certainly makes sense on another gravel pit I fish. At 2 acres it's much smaller so its known that there are two shoals in there, one with younger smaller fish...
