    I always wet my knots, it only takes a second to lick one. A dry knot may cause momentary friction on ones line which may weaken the knot.

    10 codgers fished yesterday on the GUC at Boxmoor, a very windy day but dry at least. With the lock drained for maintenance there were no boats on the towpath side and no traffic.

    You can do both. If it was windy or there was a tow on the water then obviously the float rubber version.

    The C & RT.often haven't got enough staff to come out to an incident ( dewatering for instance ) so I doubt very much they'd come along checking if you had one of their wanderers permits.
