    Big hook?

Take it I would need a fairly big hook to go through this soft lure? (for trout)https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190821/1db220f21b3521e21c874ab42a8c1ff4.jpg

    Re: Bait only reservoir

Yes, was thinking that, but the funny thing is when you have reached the three fish limit (you take them home) you can't fish further, even catch and release.

    Bait only reservoir

Just phoned a local reservoir. They said they allow fly and non-fly fishing but no spinners, crankbait or swimbait, only worms/maggots. Why would this be?

A fisherman down at the river gave me some worms for my book (was using power bait. Was finding it a bit hard to put them on (plus I was squeamish about them wriggling about, but he kindly put them...

Length under split shot (river trout)

Should it be close, or should a bit be left to flail about when using worms

    Re: Berkley's Honey worms

Yeah I'll certainly do that. Not really keen on cultivating worms but might have to give that a bash too. Certainly artificial will be handy

How easy is it to find garden worms in dry weather. Is it better to wait until in rains?

Anybody tried this power bait? I see from Youtube they actually work. Are they rubbery or something. Do you reuse them?

    Bait used in sea fishing

Recently started sea fishing using lures and feather rigs. What options do I have if I wanted to use bait instead? (Not from a boat, just piers)
