    Re: Ninja doubts

What you have to remember is that person behind the till is a salesman it's their job to make sure you don't leave without buying something. A good salesman can convince you that black is white.

    Re: The centrepin reel thread......

When I think at the time I paid over £200 pounds for some of my centrepins and what is now available for a £50 or less there are certainly what appear to be some bargains out there.

    Re: Carp Pollution

The problem I see coming is that there are basically now two types of carp anglers. Those that fish carp ponds and want overstocked easy to catch and big weights and those that want bigger and bigger...

Judging by the stocking it's just turning into another carp fishery.

    Re: Carp Pollution

You will struggle to find what you want without joining a club. Most of the good waters around Chelmsford are club owned or carp fishing.
You could try Blashford Hills, Chigborough or Fennes. If you...

Re: Just having a run of bad luck...

Spent some time yesterday planning a days Tench fishing next week. Sorted out all my gear and baits only to see that the weather forecast frost this weekend and winter again next week.
    So looks like...

As much as like fishing for tench I would not fish a tench only lake it's no different to a carp only lake.

    Re: Who owns a river?

Following on from 'Who owns the river' who in this country owns the water in that river or come to that the rain that falls from the sky?

    Carp Pollution

This is not an attack on carp or carp angler just the way fishing is now going.

I have just received newsletters from both of my clubs and they are carrying what I call I not being a carp lover...

    Re: Who owns a river?

Let me see now, if your fishing club only holds the fishing rights to one bank you must therefore be poaching if you fish past the half way line. You can’t legally fish far bank swims.
    If I fish...

    Re: Fake maggot question?

One thing struck me when reading this post it’s just how we now look at boilies as being not fake bait but real bait.
Boilies must go through much more of a manufacturing process than any other...

    Re: The centrepin reel thread......

Always find it strange when some say that you need this reel for Barbel, this reel for trotting. The only centrepin I used for both was a Rapidex and it worked.
We do seem to get a bit bogged down...

Re: Shooting ban, could we next?

When I was an RSPB volunteer it was very easy to raise money for our causes even from anglers. When I tried to raise money for fishing anglers wouldn’t give a penny.
So who would if it came to it...

    Re: Bream shoal size

I don’t know about size of shoals but they can be sometimes be too easy to catch. I remember fishing a water where when bream fishing we each caught 4 or 5 fish in the 6lb+ region then the shoal...

Re: Shooting ban, could we next?

Without going into politics £1.4bn is not a lot to lose when other groups jump on the bandwagon.

    Uncaught fish

I was talking to one of the estate...

    Re: Advice for a beginner

The only thing I would say is don't do what I did and put your reels away without cleaning them. If you do the salt will soon corrode them.
