    Re: Which head torch

    I have a ThruNite TH20.

It's fantastic and I've taken it just about everywhere, fishing, hiking, camping, urban exploring and it's still as good as new.

    Re: How local is local

My closest is less than 10 minutes drive!

That being said though I've been going less recently, the owner is miserable.

  3. Foul hooked on a hair rigged boilie fished off the bottom?

This was just a standard boilie, fished off the bottom, using a 30g feeder with crushed up boilies in the mix.

I had just landed a double and then my other rod went crazy.

    During the fight I...
  4. Which products for use as ointment or disinfectant?

I've seen on the webs that anglers use dab on disinfectant or antiseptic on their catches that need it.

As I said, I'm fairly new at this.

    Re: Carp rod question

    Thanks.

    I'm looking now at an 11ft 1.5lb specialist/barbel rod.

Seems like it might be a good all rounder?

It comes with two different tips.

It's only a cheapie but I'll get something...

    Re: Carp rod question

I will mostly be targeting sub 20lb fish.

    Overall its between 5 - 15lb carp.

There are plenty of cheap 11ft 1.5 lb specialist/barbel rods.

Would that be a good one for smaller stillwaters?

I was considering that to be honest!

It will be nice to recycle the lot and get fresh line for sure.

    Easier that way too.

  12. What can I do about an assortment of old unmarked line?

I have various spools of line that are just unmarked.

It seems in good nick but I have no idea what weight the line is.

It would be great if I could mark it all so its easy for me to grab a...

Re: Weighing in my landing net?

Thanks for your thoughts on those.

Maybe the Korum will be a good bet then, I know I haven't been weighing but I can safely say I've not had anything anywhere near 25lb!

Re: When to call it a day on a canal?

I've certainly had to pick my days/times carefully!

Exeter canal is crazy busy at times with alsorts of people. Noisy ones at that!

    Thanks Keith,

I will certainly look into doing some deadbaiting.

When to call it a day on a canal?
