    Re: Grinding Feeling

Thanks, I hope so. It's a second hand reel and I used the line on it that it came with, so no idea how old it is. Gonna get some new line on and see how it feels then.

    Re: Fishing Line

Thanks, ordered a spool. Will get it put on then I know what gauge my line is instead of guessing.

    Re: Grinding Feeling

It's mono, although I don't know exactly what size. I'm going to be replacing the line soon. The rod rings are all in mint condition. I didn't try a lighter feeder, but I will be setting the rod up...

    Fishing Line

I've got a couple of reels to put fresh line on. Would something like this (thinking of getting a 4lb and a 6lb) do the job? There's 3km of cable on the 4lb one, so thinking this is good value to...

    Grinding Feeling

When fishing at the weekend, I experienced a sort of grinding feeling. It didn't feel like it was coming from the reel, but further up towards the tip of the rod. I was fishing a 1.5oz quiver tip...

    Re: Help understanding rods

The rating of the tip? 2oz must mean something like it takes 2oz to bend the tip so far, so can I not weight the tip up and see how many ounces it takes to bend it to the required point and then I...

Thanks, if that's the case it sounds like it's just what I need to begin feeder fishing for the first time

    Help understanding rods

So I've got two older rods and I'm trying to understand their purpose. The first is a match rod that quite obviously states the size of line to use (around 2lb). Nice and easy, and I'm guessing this...

    Thanks for all the comments.

I did indeed, and now the gear is home and I've checked it over, I think it was an absolute bargain. The rods are selling on eBay for £60+ each, and the chair was...

I've seen an absolute bargain on gumtree near home. £800 worth of gear for £120 - it has a chair and brolly among loads of other tackle. Granted, not something I need tomorrow but may make my entry...

    Hello

    Hello everyone,

New to fishing - well, used to fish in my teens, 20+ years ago, but either didn't learn much or can't remember much, so makes me new to fishing.

    Looking forward to picking up...
