Use a towel. Or dip the damp lead in some dry groundbait/milk powder/ovaltine/brocacell/worlds your oyster.

The comics say you have to have at least 4 or 5 pre tied bags ready, with using lead-core/camo leaders with a loop at the end to a:save seconds when recasting and b:sell more leaders

Re: Solid pva bag without leader

If wouldn't bother making up bags in advance, it takes moments to do them on the bank when needed.

If you are adamant you want to, how I do it is to use a helicopter rig, but instead of a swivel...

Same amount of time as an unfrozen boilie.

Would've said the worst thing you can do is put it in an airtight container, you are just trapping in warmth and moisture and there will be air in it....

Re: method feeder for bigger carp

    To be clear :

    Pellets in bowl
Add whatever liquid attractors (or none)
Add boiling water until just covered
    Leave until cool

Will end up with a stiff paste prefect for casting. I only add...

Re: method feeder for bigger carp

The pellet is really just a carrier of the liquid attractors - I just use whatever I have laying around. Prefer oily ones tho.

Re: method feeder for bigger carp

Dampen pellet with hydrolysed fish protein/molasses/CSL and you will be able to get a pretty firm, highly attractive mix - you don't want too many coarse materials in it to stop it breaking up on the...

Re: method feeder for bigger carp

I prefer using method to pva bags - it's much more flexible and lends itself to liquid attractors and wet weather! And within 10 mins or so there's little difference between what a pva bag and a ball...

Re: Ice hole fishing... for CARP!

Fred's early recipes were really simple but evolved into the 4/4/4/4 mix that everyone based their milks on. But yes, isolate was used in the 70's - Lots of recipes in JB's bit in Carp Fever.

Has anybody used it? do you fish for carp in winter?

Blimey - it's hardly new, was being used in the 70's. Surprised you seem so excited by it when you sell it, so must have been aware of it?

    Re: Frozen boilie help?

    Cardboard doesn't stop freezer burn.

Wouldn't worry about it, the baits will re absorb the moisture when they defrost. Freezer burn won't make any difference to a bait.
