Re: How did you get on?

Fished the Dam a few times since last posting but have been a wire short of a USB cable. The old one got utilized in a permanent fixture where the other four have gone is anyone's guess and I wasn't...

Re: How did you get on?

JPEGs have rotational information embedded in the file. Some systems process it, some don't. If you want to be sure it gets displayed everywhere the way you see it is to process/resize it in a...

    Re: Tips on Tares

You've just reminded me to take mine out ready for tomorrow. I only do small amounts, 1/4 cup so if you're doing more it might not work - 500ml preheated flask, 1/4 cup Tares, fill with boiling water...

    Re: Browning Cenex Lines

Silstar is very stretchy compared to most lines, enough I would say to distinguish it from others. Suspend a 1M length of both lines with say a 4oz weight and see how they compare. If they're...

Re: How did you get on?

Felt for you Mike. I don't think anyone would call the Dam an easy water and I have fished it a lot this year so should probably have done better than I did. Roach weren't a bad stamp though so not...

Re: How did you get on?

Mike forgot to mention that 6 of his 'paltry' total were good sized Carp and that probably 50% of mine were Rudd and as most will know, not catching Rudd is considerably more challenging than...

If you don't mind fixing one of the rings permanently I have some suitable adhesive lined heat shrink tubing I could spare. PM me if you want some.

Re: How did you get on?

Fairly late start on the Dam yesterday arriving at about 6:30 and a little cooler than expected in the shade but comfortable enough. Slow start picking up Roach on maggot which is all they'd look at...

Possibly this one Ultimate Knots – KRYSTON It seems to perform better with fluorocarbon but when I tried it on low diameter nylon it was six of one and half a dozen of the other.

    Re: Fluorocarbon help please.

Only one I've encountered that struck me as wiry was Sakuma. I have some 3.5lb. I could send you a few meters if the gauge is right for you, 0.152mm. PM me if you want some.

Early start on the Dam on Friday arriving at 5am. Slider at 30+M and a small bodied 3mm tip waggler at ~12M. Started off fishing where Mike did on Tuesday, 3" on the bottom at 8'3" having told Mike...

I like Graem's no nonsense approach, always pick something up from James Robbins' vid's and the Halton Dangler's unfussy practical knowledge.

    Re: Cooking Hemp.... Infuriating!

I've had bad and good from Haith's, both large and small hemp. Last lot was from Hinders which was good. Being a bait shop rather than a pet food supplier that sells bait I'd hope they're more aware...

Re: Floats for shy biting fish.

I'm going to give this a try at some point but I've been wondering about "shots near the float". Why near the float? Doesn't it make casting a bit clumsy?

Re: Floats for shy biting fish.

A 1mm carbon stem weighs fractionally less, about 7.5% than a painted 1.6mm hollow bristle. Maybe it 'sticks' to the water more so than a painted bristle?

Thinking about it a bit more it won't...
