Re: All this was going to the tip!

Nice haul. Want a wanton waste that would have been.

When a neighbour died and the widow wanted to dispose of his gear I phoned the Angling Trust and a rep came and took it for one of those...

Re: How did you get on?

Now I know carp are not regarded highly by some on here but at the moment locally to me they are the best bet to get your string pulled.
I went for probably the last time this year to a club lake...

Re: Shotting for a stick float

On the broader subject of trotting....................... I do own pins but this week on the Trent I reverted to my fixed spool. I am rusty at trotting but soon got into the rhythm with the fixed...

Re: How did you get on?

I have fallen in love....with my new Acy ultra 14ft. I had a morning trotting on the lower Trent with maggots.
A Billy Lane avon was my choice. This is the second time trotting in about 20 yrs....

Re: Shotting for a stick float

When I first started realising there were better floats than a porcupine I read up on the matter. A short publication marketed by Ultra Floats by the maestro Billy Lane was compulsive reading.
    I...

Re: How did you get on?

I went in to Band M recently and stocked up on that Bacon Grill. The cheeky so and sos have put the price up to £1.15p a tin from 99p last year. At that rate I will have to remortgage!!:wh

Re: How did you get on?

Tough day for silvers on my reservoir. It rained all day and all I could muster was a dozen small roach and perch. The water still felt warm but maybe the recent cold nights have taken their toll/...

    Whitty the Ivel

Whitty I walked from Henlow to Jordans Mill. I could see the bottom a lot of the time. Silty grey colour. My son in law caught a lot of crays from near the A507.

Chriss I had a walk along the Ivel with the grandchildren. I was disappointed to see how silty and sterile looking it was. Lack of flow I guess. I...

    Re: First time out....

I think you could get bogged down with concerns about hook size. Some lures come with smaller hooks than others. You can get baby perch on lures as big as themselves. You can get bigger perch on tiny...

Re: How did you get on?

Tucked behind a willow hedge in a gale on the Wolds today. The carp went mental. I had some good roach, rudd and a bit embarrassed to say 32 carp about 5 or 6 lb. Bread/paste/pellet.
    Also this...

    Re: Fishing seat/chairs.

Looking at the adjustment devices and the mud feed I reckon they come from the same source as the Nash stuff. I bet the same factory makes many brands and you pay more for a name.
  20. Re: Best lures and spinners for perch and pike

The first thing I would take if pike are a possibility is a trace to stop getting bitten off.

This is not dismissive but have a look on Youtube for soft rubber minnow type lures for perch/ how to...
