    Re: Whips

Basically a "whip" is telescopic throughout, although some of the more expensive longer whips are tele' for the first 3 sections ad take apart for the rest.

One of the whips I have is a Milo...

Re: Best butt rest for floater fishing

I only use a butt rest for things like when I put the rod down for re-bating or taking a short break for coffee or a sarnie . . . . when fishing with it I always hold the rod but do use a front rest...

Re: Fishing the Thames near Maidenhead

    Kirsty,

It is not an area that I am too conversant wih but, in the light of the sad recent events, then a proper life jacket for each child is a necessity, regardless of how well they may swim.

  7. Re: Gaymire: Are the Monsters Still There?

The trouble is that neither side in this debacle are willing to compromise, hence my quote from Don Quixote; both are tilting at windmills.

The only way this would ever be concluded, one way or...
  8. Re: Gaymire: Are the Monsters Still There?

    From Don Quixote . . . .

“Do you see over yonder, friend Sancho, thirty or forty hulking giants? I intend to do battle with them and slay them all.”

    Re: Bait Staying Fresh?

I tend to only buy relatively small tins of corn for hook bait so there is rarely much left over at the end of a full day of fishng. If there is then I usually put it in the food processor for a few...

    Re: Korda Krusha

I’ve used one for a few years but wouldn’t dream of using it for human food items, for that I have a grinder, a food processor and a blender.

You are are probably right though regarding the...

Other than the obvious things like rod rests and the occasional landing net I did once come across an expensive reel on our syndicate stretch which was handed into the secretary. I did get a very...

    Re: What is Traditional Angling?

I guess that would wholly depend on how the word "purist" was being used, as in a pejorative or complimentary context?

    Re: What is Traditional Angling?

To me "traditional angling" is more of a frame of mind than the use of discrete tackle . . . . although a cane rod and centrepin reel does help.

When I go off on a "traditional" day I tend to...

Re: Total Fishing Tackle - CHEATS!
