    Re: Fresh start

    Hi Andy, welcome to FM.
Fishing’s changed as much as you want it to. The fish are still the same, some of the modern methods are good some I think are over complex. Most of all enjoy

    Re: Still water fish movement.

Many forms of livestock are hand fed or machine fed, poultry in cages or barns for one. They are definitely not pets but livestock.

I think any fish unless in an aquarium are more or less wild to...

No idea pal, might be worth phoning the EA. They should send someone down. They did when our brook went white. I was told milk is their biggest worry as it strips the oxygen out of the water.

    Re: Anyone fishing?

I fished yesterday, stillwaters again. Had to take a 5-6mile detour to get to them as the roads where flooded. All the lakes apart from the one I fished are full to the brim. Had a couple of carp...

    How did you get on?

Tuesday is my only day off this week so thought I’d spend the morning fishing. After a detour around some floods, I spent a couple of hours fishing the match lake again. Tucked myself into the corner...

I like a nice float, particularly the new version of the Stillwater blue. I want to give some of Dave Harrels sensitip waggler ago, but reluctant to pay out for postage as there’s no stockists near...

Re: How did you get on?

Went to my clubs waters today, thought I’d try the match lake. There is supposedly a decent head of roach in it somewhere. Armed my self with 1/2 pint of reds and some bread for punch.
    Nothing much...

    Re: Waterway wanderers permit

    Yes.

I’ve seen quite a few C&RT workers where I fished in early 2019
Looking at the map it’s good value for money.

I’ve never seen the point, feels a little like cheating to me. But each to their own I wouldn’t berate anyone for using one. As long as they don’t do a Miami vice scene through my swim lol

    Re: Stewed wheat

According to the RSPB it’s only good for pigeons doves and pheasants.
I know the mix I get from work has a lot of wheat and the smaller birds sort through it. Or the squirrels get there first.

I’m embarrassed to say I’ve never fished with hemp or tares as hookbait. I’ve tried the odd grain of hemp but never had a bite.

    Re: Self hooking rigs ?

I also wondered if the hair rig itself is self hooking, I thought I’d read somewhere it was designed to catch on the bottom lip as the baits sucked in-or blown out as fish do. ?
