    Re: Lure Patterns

Worth noting that a fishes eyes see colours differently to the human eye.

More research has been done on the eyes of Marlin and Tuna than any other and still a lure of the preferred size catches...

    Re: Carp Fishermen

I have nothing against carp anglers, infact the more the merrier........

    Because they fish at night
Buy lots of tackle and thus keep the shops going
    Exclusively fish stillwaters
    Use boilies...

Re: What temperature will barbel feed at?

Its because as the super glue cures it heats up and cooks a section of the pellet making it more attractive to the barbel.

But keep it quite and let these guests keep guessing........;)

    Welcome aboard Derek.

During one day on the Test this summer all I caught was Dace, they seemed to know I wasn't a serious fluff chucker and just followed me around all day.

    Then when Im...

    Re: Homemade Pike Drop-offs.

I once spent a season moving swims every 15-20mins, this necessitated a slimming down of all my gear and making my own roll-up (they weren't on the market in those days) during that season I caught...

Re: Line strength capacity of a rod

The load an angler can put on a rod is grossly overated by nearly all anglers.

    Re: Homemade Pike Drop-offs.

    Yes, forget them.

In my experience pike don't like a load on the line suddenly disappearing as what happens when the Drop-offs drop.
Far better is a constant load such as a weight on a long loop...

Re: Line strength capacity of a rod

When a fish is in the water it has neutral buoyancy, that is why it doesn't sink.
If a rod is bent into a curve the effect on the fish is to unbalance it, the fish then tries to correct its balance...

Re: Do you want to lose the will to live?
