Yes I totally agree but only for my own fishing. If someone wants to spend money on such paraphernalia its fine by me.

Tucked blood knot, perfection loop, Grinner, Spade end knot (Domhoff), water knot (3 and 4 turn), sliding stop knot - if its really windy I like the thrill of a Bimini twist..

    Re: breaking the rules

I don't know about this river but, in some areas of country, its clearly stated that you can't use groundbait in feeder in the close river season. Although helpfully, in the same download, it also...

I'd suggest that you check EA byelaws for the river that you're planning to fish unless you wait until June 16th.

    Re: 3 foot twitch

I've never heard of John Baker, he seems to be held in high regard, honest question - Should I have?

NB - I don't fish for Carp of Barbel in the sense of two rods plus Boilies

    Re: Helping any new comers?

I have a similar tale tell about the same species - it was a bit like the scene from Jaws when the bounty is put on the Shark, but without boats.

I made the error of telling a club committee...

    Re: Helping any new comers?

My angling is about enjoyment rather than PB’s or photo journals, I don’t really care too much about what I say about tactics and locations and I don't have anything to sell. The theory here is by...

I really enjoyed the second video, especially the bit where they define a test curve and then contradict their own definition through a practical example, mildly annoying is where they talk about...

Re: Fishing Etiquette. Am I right to be angry?

Re: Fishing Etiquette. Am I right to be angry?

You assume what you like. It was your choice to fish a water where the pegs are close together and his right to fish next to you, deal with it at the time, or don't, it your choice.

Re: Fishing Etiquette. Am I right to be angry?

Who said anything about a fight? In my book fronting him up is little more than saying 'Hey, do you mind? I've been baiting that area..' neither do you have to have a 'slanging match' at least you've...
