    Re: Paste baits for chub

Your catch rate only equals the time you have spent on the bank, something which is not just feasible for someone like me at the moment with a new born baby to look after. I don't have the luxury of...

    Re: Paste baits for chub

Have to 100% agree with you there. There are far too many variables. Yes it might catch but Christian will have no idea why, and which additive or flavour are attracting the fish. The...

    Re: Paste baits for chub

Interesting thoughts but can't really see the point of combining the 50/50 with the pastry mix for the finished paste. As you said your just using the 50/50 as a carrier for the caramel flavour the...

    Re: Paste baits for chub

With less being more why don't you just use the scopex with the 50/50 gold as your starting place? You know your standard cheese paste mix works well enough on its own so if it ain't broke then why...

Re: good hook for hemp and tares

When I used to do a lot of hemp fishing for roach on the Nene in my early years my favorite pattern was the Kamasan B511 usually in a size 16 if they were confident, dropping to a smaller size if it...

Feeder fishing with a centrepin just doesn't seem 'right' to me, yet I'm quite happy to bolt rig with them for chub. Strange person that I am! :wh

I always thought Stef's reference to '"codding" was meant solely in terms of the amount of lead used to hold bottom. Think I remember him saying just keep pieing it on until it holds bottom in the...

    Re: link ledgering

Grippa stops as their name suggests are designed to stay in place on the line. The float stops are much softer and can be slid up and down the line easily with a lot less chance of damaging the line.
