Snobbery of the highest order. There is nothing whatsoever wrong with seeking out a bargain. Anyone who buys tackle (or anything else) based solely on the badge stuck on it clearly has more money...

Re: Polaroid glasses still the best?

    Thank you.

Really gets my goat that does.

Like Hoover is a brand - they make vacum cleaners.

One point though - polarized is an Americanism; polarised is the English spelling.

Re: sonu baits barbel and carp paste anygood?

Sonubaits 'S' pellets are by far and away their best bait. Hookable & hair-rigable and have caught me decent barbel, chub, tench, carp and bream.

The halibut version of the same pellet probably...

Re: The cult of the John Wilson Avon.

Love my full cork handled Wilson bought around 2005/06 ish.

I have enjoyed fishing with it and still do, in fact it last went into service at a local tench lake only two weeks or so back.

    I...

Re: Should Treble Hooks Be Banned?

I think that the trend for large singles on lures - as opposed to a sensibly sized treble - could be more dangerous for the fish.

The penetration potential of a large single hook is far greater...

    Re: Which TC

Also depends on the rod's action - I have a 1lb test rod which has more power in the lower section than a similar 1.25lb test rod I own.

The TC is all about how much weight it takes to put a 90ยบ...

Re: Should Treble Hooks Be Banned?

I use both singles, doubles and trebles in my predator fishing - all dependent on circumstances, species and bait size / rig.

I do not believe that trebles are unecessary, or that they are in...

Re: Clattercote, the last FM Fish-In

AS Ron has so eloquently pointed out in the past - baseball caps are for chavs anyhow. Ergo - those with heads suitable for baseball caps must be either chavvy or decended from chav-stock.
