Re: Chair....but not a low one

I got the Korum Supa Lite and that's as low as they get, but it clips on to my Korum Ruckbag and it's nice and light for river roving with fully adjustable legs. There's nearly always a trade-off in...

    Re: Preston Innovations Rod?

I had a look at a 14ft Preston Carbonactive which is now out of production but I think the Absolute has replaced it. It's a lovely rod, well built with good kit. I also looked at a Fox Warrior 14ft...

Re: Fox Warrior s Barbel rods?

I think you are asking for the moon on a stick trying to find one rod that will leger for barbel and trot for chub too. Best bite the bullet and get a 1.5 or 1.75lb Avon-type rod for the barbel and...

Re: Fox Warrior s Barbel rods?

I have got the Fox Warrior XT Twin Tip Barbel 1.75lb and the Fox Warrior XT 14' Waggler rod and am delighted with them.

The barbel rod is 11' and has an Avon Tip and a more sensitive, white quiver...

    Re: Pole advice

For that budget you might be advised to stay at around 11 or 12.5m. Longer poles at that price will be heavy and droop. A lot of good fishing can be had from 6 to 11m in the right swims. Get one with...

They work for me Colin. I love the smell of a bream/roach sweet based groundbait. Smells like summer to me! :D

Re: Tench and Bream Flavours and Additives

Brasem, Scopex, Strawberry and sweet groundbaits like Van Den Eynde Secret and Special, molasses and white bread crumb all have their place when tench and bream fishing.

Red Wolf Bite Alarms - Question?

Anyone got any of these? I have been given three but don't know what batteries they take and there doesn't seem to be any indication on the alarm.

The problem with some bite alarms is that they...

    Re: March 2014 Caption Competition

Darren was going for broke with 2 squids worth of bait on the one rig!

Someone made a typo on the latest Octoplus price list.

    Re: A natural progression .

for years now, you have been able to get landing nets (game-fishing ones mostly) with scales built into the handles. The general consensus was that they were rarely accurate and a bit of a gimmick.

This is a link to a blog about an environmental project that our club is carrying out at a water that is totally owned by us. The water is an old mill pool and, left as it is, it is a perfectly...

    Re: Drennan tench rod

The latest 13ft Drennan Tench has a lot of grunt. I watched a fellow club angler knocking out 3 carp of 10 - 12lb on the waggler with one last summer.

Re: Leaving discarded hooks and line

I fish a lot of rock marks in Anglesey and invariably clean them up by putting discarded litter in a carrier bag or my bait bucket and cleaning the mark. Some people are just downright, dirty...
