I have never bought anything from the company in question. But I am reasonably certain that any company, regardless of there products or services, is going to walk away from a lucrative market.

Re: Waters you won't be going back to

The inexplicable, yet clear and definite gut feeling of feeling unsafe is something that for me is a rare experience, but it is always heeded.

    Re: New or second hand

I will always buy new, unless I specifically want something that is no longer in production, having said that, I rarely buy large items - rods, reels etc, as what I have more than suffices.

    The...

Re: Greys prodigy barbel rod, quiver tips.

I also have a pair of these rods, however I rarely use the quiver top section. I will check the fit over the weekend.

Aside from that I agree that Greys rods are generally superior to many makes,...

Re: stamping on a bait boat

It’s all very well to go online and list all of the things that others do that pi$$ you off. And I am incredibly envious because those complainants must be damned perfect.

Re: Who's been a naughty boy then

The law is the law and rules are rules. Falling on hard times doesn’t and should not mean that you get a free pass to flout those laws.

There may a debate to be had regarding people facing tough...

  12. Re: when was the last time you guys cleaned out your tackle box

I may not be quite so OCD as Peter, but I am very organised, everything has its place and levels of consumables are regularly checked and topped up.

For me being organised increases the efficiency...

I actually thought that it was a decent watch. Recognised the area from when I fished the Ebro a few years back.

I used to keep brief records but after several years it dawned on me that I never really reviewed them, so canned it overnight and have never regretted it.

    Re: A rule too far?

Follow the rules or find another place to fish. Whilst it sounds a somewhat overzealous rule, it is not, in my opinion, totally unreasonable.

The most offensive part of the rule is the poor...

    Re: Fishing out of season

    Nice job Jeff W.

Personally I am a fan of the old closed season across ALL waters, but I realise that I am in a very small minority.

Not been out since mid March and starting to get the urge!,

    Re: Fox Warrior XT

For a rod to cast optimum distances, the lead must be heavy enough to compress the top 2/3 when used in anger.

A 3oz lead should easily hit 80 metres with those rods assuming you have decent line.

Agree the on rotary switch is ridiculously small. I use these alarms when piking in winter and carry a rawlplug in my alarm bag which fits the switch well.

I was a CAC member until recently.

Whilst some of the waters that you list are fair/decent, I advise you to go to the Ebro and really enjoy yourself.
