Re: How did you get on?

I met John (s63) at the estate lake today, after he suggested it last night. Any excuse to go fishing is a welcome change from all the stuff I am supposed to be doing, now we have eventually moved to...

Me too John, I will also be watching the snooker and preparing my tackle over the weekend. The reason for going to Mousehole Lakes is distance really. It is only twenty-odd miles away, plus a day...

Re: Just having a run of bad luck...

I hope you get out soon and find a few tench. I caught a small one on my first visit to Mousehole over the Easter Weekend, and the owner said they go a good bit bigger in that lake... we will see :)...

I am happy to spend the weekend sorting gear. I won't be able to get out until latter in the week, if that. By then I will fighting fit and happy to go alone.

Thanks Mike, I popped into the doctor's this morning and cam away with a whole lot of paper and a 'small plastic bottle' PLUS and appointment with the nurse on Wednesday for my annual foot check......

Just having a run of bad luck...

No matter how hard I try, I seem to end up not being able to get out fishing as much as I would like. The latest in the long line circumstances and events stopped my planned trip to Mousehole Lakes....

...he says so casually, as if everybody has a son who does that

I think you have mentioned this before, but I can't remember why he does it.

Re: How did you get on?

I have also broken several of those floats on even the lightest of casts. I have even had them break as a fish has taken the bait. They always break in the same place, just above the float body.

Two fishing trips in three days...

At last, I managed to get a couple of days out over the Easter weekend. On Friday I met fellow FM member and friend, John (s63) at a syndicate lake that I have...

Sorry you are feeling worse than you did on Friday, John. It was a good day, although the walk back to the van nearly killed me! I must take the trolley next time or do as you did and drive down to...

Re: I lost weight, now I feel the cold....

You are spot on there, one thing I have discovered is that it is far better to eat earlier in the day and burn it off. I take something hot worth me to eat once I have set up and then top it up...

:omg: :) I may not look that different in the photographs you have seen of me, but everyone I meet who has not seen me for a while bang on about not needing to lose any more weight.

    I had not...

Re: I lost weight, now I feel the cold....

    Thanks for all the replies.

The shock to me was that I had not expected to feel so cold all of a sudden. Last year (and for years before that) I was happy with just a few warm cloths. What really...

I lost weight, now I feel the cold....

Last Friday, I had one of the most uncomfortable day's fishing so far in my fishing journey. It was cold and wet in the afternoon, but it was not that cold. I have not fished much during the cold...

    Re: New jacket and B&B...

As John said, Aldi's online supply is the answer.

As for my weight loss, it was not a diet, it was a whole life-style change. I now eat what I want, but in a balanced way, and with portion control...

As someone who came to fishing late in life, I don't think that the electronic games are totally to blame for the lack of kids fishing. When I was a kid in the 1950s/60s there were no electronic...

    River?

It may be called a river, but The Medway, above Allington Lock, is more like a big canal.

While my brother and I were fishing it this week, it was dead flat with no detectable flow when we first...
