    In mine, it lasted long into my teens unlike today. Childhood is very short indeed and the simple freedoms we had are long gone.

    It's called a glossy or Cape Starling if I recall correctly . A very common bird in South Africa.

    Those pictured are a blue footed boobie and a spectacled boobie. These were wild nesting birds but they had no fear of man.
