The stress among the fish in a comercisal fishery

Hi,
there is one paradox, that torch my mind:few fisheries owners in Bulgaria hava exclamed, that the fish stop to feed for a long time after being hooked Is it true and if is, how long does it last?I can not see something like that in England, but if we concern the quantity of fish per acre I think we can not be sure
