In New zealand where I live and fish we have large fish and deep water, trout, perch, tench and rudd of specimen proportions. I have just purchased an Assassin 13/15 ft float rod specifically to tackle my local river. Top marks to Leeda, this is a great rod for baggin up on large fish. First time out 56 lb. in 2 hours best fish just iver 4 lb. average 2 lb. plus from a swim 12/13 ft. deep.
The Assassin has a crisp action allowing fast contact on the strike at range. It will handle high tech lines of low diameter to 8 lbs. if required and the tip allowes 3 lb main and 2 lb. bottoms when the going is hard. The action is progressive and the butt will provide all the power needed to bully the most stubborn of species to the net. The weight is a little more than I would like for trotting but I guess that you have to compromise for such a powerful rod at this price.
Verdict: Excelent value.
