As some of you may already be aware there is a charity, Second Chance, who help disadvantaged kids through the medium of angling. This mainly involves taking the kids on fishing holidays both home and abroad and giving them the opportunity to get away from what can often be a truly horrendous home life. At the same time the charity try to help the kids to move away from this environment and make a better life for themselves.
Like all similar organisations they always need money; one of the ways they raise this is by running a 'Hundred Club'. This involves people commiting to sending ?10.00 per month to the charity, this money is then split 50/50, with half going to the charity funds and the other half going into a monthly draw. The names of all the Club members go into the draw and each month one lucky winner gets ?500. As you can see by the name the Club needs 100 members to function properly, at the monment there are some vacancies and I would like to take this chance to ask any of you who may be interested to contact 'Second Chance' and get involved.
It's a well run and long established organisation so you can be confident that you money will be well spent. Some of you have already helped by taking part in the carp fish-ins that have been run from this site.
For more information about the charity and it's work and a chance to join the draw go to http://www.second-chance.org.uk or mail second.chance@ukonline.co.uk
