Trotting Line

Hello
Can anyone advise what would be a good mono for use on a Trotting reel. I have a Lewtham Engineering Van Douzan 41/4'' Centre Pin matched with a Harrison three pice 12' float rod.
I'm not sure what breaking strain to go for either.

I use 4lb Drennan Float Fish for all my trotting work on the same 'pin/rod set up that you are using. The only difference being that I use a 13ft rod, not a 12ft one.

Some of the guys on the site use braid, but I'd suggest mono until you get used to striking/playing fish etc.

drennan float fish or bayer perlon, the longer the rod the more control you get.

p.s My Harrison is a 13' not 12'.
