Just found a rig which aids fishing into weed but it only works with a pop up.Want to do a night sometime in the next few weeks so can some one tell me if pop ups work at night and if so do they work as well?

All baits smell but can Carp smell in the dark or do they smell in the day but not in the night.

carp probably smell more at night when they can't see.
but them most flouros are over flavoured anyway, so should be very detectable, but that then poses the question that if a carp is using it's sense of smell more at night, because it's sight is worthless, then should the smell be less obvious because it can detect it easier?

i reckon artificial baits work cos of the plastics that are used, they give off a sort of pheromone type smell that isnt obvious to us but the carp like the smell of rubber!.... iv'e proven this by regularly catching carp to 30lb on apopped up durex!..
