I fancy doing a bit of bivvying to get some quiet early morning/late night fishing in (and also just enjoy being out on the bankside). I'm chiefly interested in rivers and drains 50 miles or so from Sheffield. How do I get to know where I can stick the bivvy - is it OK on the bank so long as night fishing is allowed?

Check your club rules if theres nothing in there then usually there is no problem. Just make sure you are not bloking paths etc. Times of fishing can play a part but there are some clubs that will let you bivvy over night ready for the dawn start.
