I just want to get away from all the crap at work and maybe catch a few fish. I'm looking for somewhere within 100 miles of Rothers with decent security, a shop, toilet and bath facilities, and most of all some big fish.

I was thinking of Bluebell Lakes but maybe there is something better.

I don't mind paying up to 50p a day.

Do you have all the essential items Ron, I seem to remember last time we bivvied up together you were a few essentials short, therefore here is your shopping list mate:

Cammo bivvy slippers
complete list of all the dial a Kabab houses
Telly, DVD player and laptop, in bivvy entertainment is essential to reap the full benefits and enjoyment of the countryside and thus to blend in as one with nature

Ex Army fold up spade (save you standing in any crap as the week goes on)

Jobseekers allowance application form (chances you decide to extend the session)

wheel barrow full of larger

designer gear (with all the labels showing), Nash, Fox etc

Bivvy Butler (preferably large breasted one, with blonde hair)

nice flat area in which to installed your bivvy (don`t worry too much if their are no fish in your swim, if you spend enough time there and throw loads of boilies in, chances are a fish will visit your particular swim at some point during your stay)
then of course you need to consider bait?

Ron,
There are a lot of fairgrounds about at the moment mate. I think they only charge 50p a time. They supply the rod and line, and when you hook a fish you get a prize everytime. And you don't need an E.A. licence either. They also have hot dog stalls nearby so food isn't a problem. Plenty of Ruffe slappers as well.

50p/day Ron, sure that wasn't a typo and not a 50p for the week.

As regards big fish, maybe a chance of a double figure bream, 7 pound tench or even a 2 lbs still water roach. I've never caught a double bream although I've had stacks up to 81/4 lbs.

I'm not interested one iota in carp.

Oh yes John, 50 p a week would be better than 50p a day.

Seriously I don't care how much I pay, as long as the place is well run, there is the chance of meeting some decent company and there is a toilet on site. I just dont fancy digging holes.
