British Carp record smashed by Scottish Carp

Just heard on the grapvine that a mirror carp of 62 pounds has been landed by a Salmon angler fishing at Balmaha on Loch Lomond. The fish was taken on a bunch of worms intended for Salmon and was killed because the hooks were a long way down its throat. Photos soon

I wouldn't like to comment too much, because as you say Rob, it is just a grapevine story. But, I'm feeling that killing the fish was not a very clever thing to do. But of course, we need clarification on that first before we comment further.

Oh damn....just been confirmed...it was a 2 pound Perch....bloody salmon grapevine!!!

lol....There have been carp caught in lomond, the biggest I know of was just over 20 pounds taken on sweetcorn. Its all u bloody pikers bringing up livebaits!!!...Just remember...a 20 pound carp is a wee bit big to fish under a float!!
