My mate's planning on buying the Daiwa Emcast 5500 reel and just wants to know if the Daiwa Bite `n? Run converter will work on this reel.

Thinking of buying one of the Emcasts for spoding but wasn't shore which size to get. What do you think? I did read some info that said that the Bit'n'Run converter would fit, but I cannot find it. If I do I'll let you know.

I just saw on Angling Direct's website that the converter will work with this reel.

yes they do work but they have a tendancy to bend the centre pin when casting, so only cast with the spool in the fully in position

Found the article in Carpworld Mag. in TradeTalk section. - "Emcast reels are all compatible with Bite'N'Run converters".
