Hi all

I'm about to have a go in a lake that contains grass carp, but I have no idea what kind of bait I should use. Also, how I can prebait the swim. I never fished for this specie before.

Its not really a carp at all its an Amur, a white one, we used to pick them up on chum mixers by mistake, they tend to be surface feeders

The ones I was catching a few years ago were taking small white chocolate pop up boilies fished about 4" off the bottom
dont forget the mouths are different to "normal" carp

surface baits definately! or green zing pop ups, thats what most grassies are caught on round here, but keep it close to ur chest! ;)

just had a text from the boys in France and Cecil has just had a 29lb 12oz grassie
details to follow .............dunno when cause im off over there now.
