Can anyone help?
I manage a small 2-3 acre lake in Cumbria (called a tarn in Cumbria!) and it has a big C.P.Weed problem. I know the main method of control is regular raking to remove the weed, but has anyone experience of chemical weed control?. I have read that Casoran G could help, but I am a bit wary of harming the existing stock of Carp, bream, tench and rudd.

Have you contacted your local EA Fisheries office. They'll be pleased to help you.

There are systemic weed killers in the form of gel that you can pour on a small area and kill most of the weed in that area. I can't remember the names and Casoran G may be one of them. I had been recommended to use Glyphosate (Round Up) in areas where the weed was above the surface, but my problem was great pond weed not CP.

It tough stuff and you only need one section of stem and the b****y stuff's off again. Raking, sweat, tears, and blood.
