Fishing in Edinburgh

I'm off on holidays to Edinburgh and wondering if I could sneak the rods into the car. Being new to the sport I have little experience of where I could fish and with what. I'm not a huge fan of bait fishing and prefer traces and spinners and to date I've mostly been fishing for mackerel from harbours and rocks.

Any advice on tackle and places to go in Ed?

There are a couple of places you may like to try. There's the pier at Granton (sort of north of the town) and then there are the rocks down near North Berwick (but thats a fair way out to the east). I don't know whats in at the mo as I'm not into sea fishing as much as I was.
