Took my son fishing today (hes only 8) and he caught 21 fish on the waggler, made up of roach, perch, and skimmers. That was one of his best catches, he prefers float fishing for bits than carp fishing.

The only thing better than a float's appearance on the water is its disappearance.

(or something like that )

Best he learns the basics first and those will last him a lifetime. Well done.

If he can master the waggler at a young age , it will be the most difficult method out of the way......
Get it right, and it can be devastating some days............

he's getting better all the time he had to relearn alot after the long winter layoff but he's getting back into the swing of it, he fished better today as i finally got him to sit holding the rod whilst resting it on his leg, he's quite stubborn and doesn't like to be told too much and last week he kept putting the rod down just to his right and the delay from having to pick the rod up then strike was causing him to miss most bites.
