ok I know this catagory has been discussed but the designs in these reels seems to change weekly. does any one know the best budget pits around.
what are okuma and maver pits like against daiwa and shimano ?.

Everyone seems to rave about the Daiwa Emcasts. Can't say I've even picked one up to be honest.

Dont know if this has been discussed, but i have found the Aerlex XS 6000 to be very useful and at ?46 (Hinders)you really cant go wrong. Nice line lay, good for chucking big method feeders and cranking in large carp. It might not be the the most technically advanced but it suits my occasional carp trips.

HAVE A LOOK AT THE DAIWA OPUS 5000 PLUS PIT REEL,WELL MADE,GOOD LINE LAY,?39.99 FROM CLIMAX TACKLE,BEEN USING A COUPLE FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS WORK REALLY WELL.
